Philippians 4:4-8 --
"Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all
you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then
you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can
understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in
Christ Jesus. And
now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on
what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and
admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise."
My youth pastor sent this to me yesterday.
After I got back from church camp, the boy I had been seeing decided to stop talking to me.
It cuts me so bad when people don't keep their promises. And teenage boys are usually the best at breaking them.
I'm in a Fire Explorers program in Hall County, and he's my captain. The program meets at least once a week, and I've been stressed out since I got back from camp about seeing him again.
I've been so worried about it that I'm at the point where I wake up in the morning and already feel miserable at the thought of the meeting being one day closer.
There is some bad spiritual warfare going on around me right now.
On the one side, I'm happy that it ended because God was just eliminating the things in my life that was taking my focus away from Him.
But the enemy loves to attack. The Bible describes him as a stalking lion.
So when my youth pastor told me to read these verses, I felt as stress-free as I had in a while.
It was just the thing I needed to hear at the right moment... So I thought I'd share :)
